Prices exclude VAT. Meta bills your WhatsApp messages directly, at Meta's rates, and we add nothing to them.

Monthly plans

Every plan includes

  • Hosting
  • Monitoring and alerts
  • Keeping up with Meta's API and template changes
  • Bug fixes
  • Handling template approvals
  • Support in South African business hours
  • A monthly report

Allowances are per month. A conversation is one customer's chat within a 24-hour window, however many messages it holds. Meta's message fees are separate: Meta bills your card directly and we add R0. See Meta's WhatsApp rates in South Africa.

How it works

Four steps, each priced up front

The first conversation is free. The event storming session fixes your build fee before we start.

  1. 1

    Consultation

    Free

30 minutes to talk through what you want WhatsApp to do and whether we're a fit. Book a time

  2. 2

    Event storming

    R5,000

A 1-hour session with your team, then up to 2 working days of analysis. You get a full SDF: goals, capabilities, integration plan, risks, open decisions and a fixed development fee. About the session

  3. 3

    Build

    From R15,000

One day on the chat logic, message templates and WhatsApp Flows, plus R7,500 per integration: each system we read from or write to.

  4. 4

    Run

    From R4,950

A month, on one of the three plans above: hosting, monitoring, changes and support for what we built.

For example, a setup with two integrations costs R5,000 for the session plus a R30,000 build (the R15,000 base and 2 × R7,500), so R35,000 once-off, ex VAT, before the monthly plan. The session fee is not credited against the build.

If you go over your allowance

Above your plan's allowance, you pay only for what you use:

  • Extra conversationsR2.50 eachOne customer's chat within a 24-hour window, however many messages it holds.
  • Extra integration callsR25 per 1,000A call is one read from or write to one of your systems, such as checking open slots or saving a lead.
  • AI beyond the allowanceR64 / R320 per 1M tokensR64 per million input tokens and R320 per million output tokens. That works out at about R1.50 a conversation.
  • Payments collected in the chat1%Of the value collected, on top of your own Paystack or Yoco fees. Only if you take payments in WhatsApp.
  • Meta's message feesR0 from usMeta bills your card directly, at Meta's rates. See WhatsApp API pricing in South Africa for Meta's rate card and a rand calculator.

If you're often above your allowance, the next plan up can be cheaper. With 3,500 conversations a month, Starter costs R4,950 plus 2,500 extra conversations at R2.50, so R11,200 before any extra integration calls. Growth costs R9,950. The plan calculator picks the cheaper plan for you.

If we build AI replies into your setup, each reply goes out as a normal service message on Meta's bill, and the AI model's usage counts against your plan's AI allowance. The maths is in what a WhatsApp AI agent costs.

What the whole thing costs: three examples

These combine Meta's fees, our one-off costs and our monthly plan. The consultation before each is free. The businesses and volumes are examples, not client data. Meta's fees use Meta's South African list rates at R18.00 to the dollar (an example rate), and all figures exclude VAT. Meta bills its part to you directly. How each Meta figure is worked out is in Meta's worked examples.

A clinic with appointment reminders example

One number. 600 reminders and 1,500 service replies a month, about 800 conversations. One integration, to its booking system, using about 5,000 calls a month. No AI. Starter covers it.

First year: R27,500 + 12 × R5,138 = R89,156.

An online retailer with order updates and payments example

One number. 2,000 marketing, 3,000 utility and 4,000 service messages, about 3,500 conversations a month. Two integrations, its shop platform for orders and Paystack for payment links, using about 25,000 calls. It collects R80,000 a month through payment links in the chat. Growth is cheaper than Starter plus overage.

An insurer handling claims and policy questions example

One number. 8,000 utility messages (claim updates and premium reminders), 2,000 authentication messages and 15,000 service replies a month, about 6,000 conversations. Four integrations: the policy admin system, the claims system, the CRM and document storage, using about 60,000 calls. AI answers first-line questions in about 2,000 conversations, roughly R3,000 of AI usage.

  • Meta: utility 8,000 × $0.0095 = $76; authentication 2,000 × $0.0095 = $19; service 15,000 − 1,000 free = 14,000 × $0.0095 = $133. $228, about R4,104.

Plan calculator

Enter your expected monthly usage. The calculator picks the cheapest Euphony plan for your conversations, integrations and integration calls, adds any overage, and shows the one-off cost of the build.

It leaves out Meta's message fees, which Meta bills you directly. Work those out with the rand calculator for Meta's rates. To see whether the whole setup pays for itself, try the WhatsApp ROI calculator.

One-off, ex VAT: R5,000 event storming session plus a R30,000 build = R35,000.

This is an estimate. It leaves out AI usage beyond your plan's allowance, the 1% fee on payments collected in the chat, and Meta's message fees, which Meta bills you directly. The one-off build figure is the standard rate; the fixed fee comes out of your event storming session.

Questions about our prices

What does Euphony cost?

All prices exclude VAT. A first 30-minute consultation is free. The event storming session costs R5,000: a 1-hour session with your team, then up to two working days of analysis by our engineers. The build costs R15,000 plus R7,500 per integration. Monthly plans cost R4,950 (Starter), R9,950 (Growth) or R19,950 (Scale). A setup with two integrations costs R35,000 once-off: R5,000 for the session and R30,000 for the build.

Do Euphony's prices include VAT?

No. All of Euphony's prices exclude VAT. Meta's message fees are billed by Meta, not by us; how VAT applies to them is covered in paying Meta in rand, and the VAT question.

Does Euphony add a markup to Meta's message fees?

No. Codeswop is a Meta Tech Provider. You add your own card to your WhatsApp account and Meta bills you directly, at Meta's rates. Our monthly plans are a separate charge for running your setup: each includes a number of conversations, and extra conversations cost R2.50 each. Why that matters is explained in BSP vs Tech Provider vs Solution Partner.

What counts as a conversation?

A conversation is one customer's chat within a 24-hour window, however many messages it holds. Starter includes 1,000 a month, Growth 5,000 and Scale 20,000.

What happens if I go over my plan's allowance?

You pay for what's above it: R2.50 per extra conversation, R25 per extra 1,000 integration calls, and AI beyond the allowance at R64 per million input tokens and R320 per million output tokens, about R1.50 per conversation. If you're often over, the next plan up can be cheaper.

What is the 1% fee on payments?

If you take payments in WhatsApp, we charge 1% of the value collected in the chat, on top of your own Paystack or Yoco fees. If you don't take payments in the chat, it doesn't apply.

Is the event storming session credited against the build?

No. The R5,000 session fee is separate from the build. You keep the SDF from the session whether or not you build with us, and it may recommend not building at all. See the event storming session.
